THE EQUIPMENT
Most of the images shown on this website were captured on FUJI Velvia film using a large format view camera. Large format refers to the film size; my camera uses 4 by 5 inch sheets of film. By comparison, 35mm film is approximately 1 x 1.25 inches in size. View Cameras are what everyone calls old-timey cameras. On one hand they are one of the simplest kinds of camera in construction, but require the photographer to do all of the analysis of the scene. On the other hand, they are the most versatile, providing the photographer the ability to make many camera adjustments not normally available to 35mm and medium format photographers. I find great relaxation and personal satisfaction in working with my view camera.

Some of the images were taken with a Canon Rebel or a Canon EOS 3. Both of these cameras are Single Lens Reflex, SLR, film cameras.
